T9 predictive text...?

I just talked with my bestfriend on the phone and told me that she already know how to use it and says that it's way much better than multi-tap. I don't know what she was talking about. Is T9 predictive text a new feature on cellphone?

I already know what T9 is. You can choose this mode in sending text messages on your cellphone. Much easier to use than multi-tap.   I'll try to explain,

like LEMON you just have to tap 53666 in T9 mode,

in multi-tap mode it's equivalent to 55533666666

with my phone you can program the text you use most often.  so instead of typeing in 'here'  in muti tap,  you just have to hit the h button and it fills it in.
