Do points eaten among close friends and family count?

LOL...I would like to say no...but that would be wrong of me! It seems like they shouldn't...and that eating broken cookies wouldn't count...the theory of "calorie leakage" just doesn't work.

Sometimes I think just looking at food makes me gain weight. I should just save time and apply the pie and ice cream directly to my thighs!

Keep working the program...it does work!

We have a lot of birthdays in July and that means I am so sick of ice cream and cake by the end of July and if my family gets together, food is involved.  I take along my jar of iced carrot sticks and Celery sticks, The morning of, I julienne cut carrots and celery sticks and put them in a plastic jar filled with water and a few pinches of salt. You get the crunchy from the cold veggies and the taste of salt like from potato chips.  We bring our own meats to the BBQ. The kids have fun with hot dogs, and my daughter is the oldest so she will bring her "Hobo dinner" for the grill. My husband does his porterhouse, and I do my half of cornish chicken. I eat no mayo based salads, my veggies, My mom makes the most awesome rolls and I do splurge and have just one but I have my little "Can't believe it's not butter" spray with it.  as for cake, instead of having a huge piece, I have a little 1x1" square with the frosting scraped off and no ice cream.

I have been doing weight watchers for 3 weeks. I have onloy lost 2 pounds so far but even my mom says my face looks thiner, and I know I have lost a few inches off my hips. I have to keep hitching my pants up at work.

Yeah AnnaLee! Sorry that I havn't replied to this sooner...my mother has fallen and broken both hips and I have been on vacation and running out to see her so I've been neglecting the Skinny Cook. But, it sounds like you're doing great!

Don't get discouraged if it's going slowly... Hey, 2 lbs is equal to 8 sticks of butter...imagine that off of your waist! No wonder your pants are loose! Way to go!

Keep it up...sounds like you've come up with a good strategy to beat the family gathering trap that always gets me!

That's a great idea about having a 1" piece of cake. Sometimes just a taste is really all we need to feel satisfied. My leader always says...it won't taste any better on the second bite...so if you need it...take one taste and savor it. You'll be suprised how satisfying it can be.

Have a great day! Colette
