McDonalds!

I'm just NOT a salad kinda gal...I hate making them and I'm not too keen on eating them unless they are smothered in blue cheese dressing...not exactly figure friendly!

But...my new thing is to go to McDonalds for one of their $1 side salads with Newman's own Light Italian Dressing. It's low fat, not fat free, but a whole packet (and it's a pretty good sized packet) is only 1 point! It's kind of spicy (peppery...makes your mouth tingle) but it's really good. With the tuna it's only 3pts for the whole salad...for Core people...count 1 WPA.

I just had a side salad with 3 oz of tuna (water packed) and the dressing...it was delicious.

You can taste the Parmesan cheese in the dressing too. I havn't been able to find this particular variety in the store...but I will get it when I see it. This would be an outrageous marinade for grilled chicken! YUMMY!

Blessings, Colette

David and I have had their grilled chicken salads for dinner several times.  They are really good and low on points.  We use that dressing, too!  Only we have problems with a couple of the McDonald's here giving us the Balasmic Vinegar dressings instead.  One girl at the drive thru a couple of weeks ago, actually told me they didn't have the Italian...and David had just gotten it there a couple days before!!!

ANYWAY...you can go to McDonald's website and they have what they call Bag A Meal.  You can choose what you want to eat and even take off mayo, etc, and find the nutritional values for it and figure out the points.  It has been a lifesaver for me.

BTW...if you are like me and LOVE their fries...a small is 5 pts!  I sometimes splurge and get that and a Big & Tasty with ketchup, mustard, and pickle only (sometimes lettuce) and if I'm going home replace the bun that is 1 pt and that is 11 pts (5 for sm fry, 5 for burger minus bun, and 1 pt for bun from home).  Sometimes I even leave off the bun completely.

That is one of the great things about WW to me. You can still find fast food you can eat and actually stay within your daily points!! I have to eat on-the-go a lot and that is such a big help. AND I LOVE the fries at McDonald's. I'll keep that in mind!

Taco Bell has some good low point options, too.

I couldn't live without my Dining Out Companion book, hehe!

Hey...you two just gave me some more ideas! Thanks!

I love McDonald's hamburgers and fries...my favorite is the double cheeseburger. What brand are those 1 pt hamburger buns Chelle? Wonder if I can get them in KC?

I didnt' even think of Taco Bell...I love them too! Now that I'm doing Flex, a whole new world of food options has opened up to me! I have to get used to the idea that I can enjoy fast food again (within limits!)

I saved my points yesterday and we had Pizza hut for dinner! It was sooooo goooood! I was sure that I'd gain, but I actually lost a few ounces this morning.

Isn't WW incredible? Thanks ladies for the good ideas!

Colette

PS: Kassidy, I love you lady bug ticker...I'm going to have to go and get one! You may have just started a fad at the Skinny Cook! So cute!

Colette, do you have the Dining Out Companion book? If not, I totally suggest you getting it. When you love fast food like I do, I flip through and find out points for ANYTHING fast I can eat on WW! (w/in limits, like you said, of course).

I LOVE my weight tracker, too. It puts a visual right out there for you. I have TWO on my other board. ONE shows my WW goal, the other Shows my total goal. May add the other here, too.

www.tickerfactory.com (takes you right to building your own ticker!)

www.3fatchicks.com (you have to search the site for the tickers)

Copy and paste the link from bb code for forums.

both of these have the tickers. I'm sure there are more out there, but these are the two I have used.

I LOVE my Dining Out Companion.  My biggest complaint is some of our favorite restaurants are missing, plue there are many in there we don't have.  Such in life in a small town!

Then I rely on Dottie's to help me out some.

I believe the buns are the Healthy Life ones.  I think though that many of the Lite ones (like the same bread you use) figure in that way, too!

A LOT of the Taco Bell things are not near as bad as I thought...esp if you order them Fresco.

Yeah, I mistakenly looked under the Fresna list, NOT the Taco list and thought a grilled steak soft taco only had 3 points!! I knew it was too good to be true. I ate two before I realized I was wrong! The taco gsst has 7 pts...not 3pts!

Now I look VERY closely at my selections, lol!!!!!!!
