Need ideas for indoor activities that'll get your kids off the couch this winter? Try a shoe box relay! It's easy: First, divide the kids into two or more teams. For each team, place two shoe boxes and a pair of mittens at the starting line. At the other end of the room, place a small item (such as a coin) for each team. Explain that when you say go, the first member of each team is to put on the mittens, step into the boxes, shuffle across the room, pick up the object (while still wearing the mittens), tap the wall, drop the item, and race back to the start. He or she must then pass the items to the next person in line for the next turn. You can keep time, and reward the winners with stickers or another small prize for a job well done! Bad weather doesn't have to mean sitting in front of the television — get creative for your kids this season!
Denseology: Energy is found in oxygen. So breathe — deep, nourishing, energizing breaths! One of the best ways to get more oxygen flowing is by exercising. Exercise = energy!
