working on second week

First, I would like to let you know how much I enjoy reading all the posts.

This is the middle of my second week on WW.  My first week I lost 1.8 pounds.  I was actually a little disappointed.  I know that I didn't gain all this in a week, but I was sure hoping to lose it a little faster.

Any suggestions for eating out?  Any way, how many points are a white castle?

Hi Coleen,

good luck!  the first weeks are the hardest.  I thought I would never get past the being hungry all the time part.  I'm just starting my 6th month - 64 lbs down so far and it's mostly just boring now.

I can't help you with the pts for a white castle...what is that?  If it's fast food I stick only to grilled chicken sandwich, any salads, and wendys small chili (4pts).  I haven't had a good burger in a long time.

Hi Coleen! Hey, don't get discouraged...we all do sometimes...but it's worth it. Some weeks are just slow...and your still new to the program...trying to find out how things work. Stick with it, exercise, drink that water and you'll be suprised when you get on the scale.

Now...for my infamous butter analogy. You lost 1 1/2 pounds...that's equal to 6 sticks of butter! Imgine that 6 sticks of butter under your belt...think of how much more comfortable you are without that butter...it adds up. One baby step at a time...that's how we do this thing! Don't get discouraged. Minus a pound and a half is a good week!

As for White Castle...I looked it up on the internet. Now, if these nutrition values are correct...one plain White Castle hamburger (no cheese) is 3 pts. One White Castle Cheeseburger is 4 pts One small french fry is 2 pts You can always ask for the nutriton information at the restaurant, they should be able to provide it for you. Here is the link to the site I found it on. Lowfat Lifestyles They have info on alot of restaurant favorites. Hope this helps!

If you really want one or two, remember to add up the points carefully. A little indulgence is good now and then, but fast food is notorious for tripping me up! I just avoid it...cause I can't have just a little.

There are pleanty of good recipes on here to satisfy your cravings though. Check out the snack and Seasonal Challenges categories for low point muchies. We're having a family Super Bowl party Sunday, and I plan on making it all WW...so I can enjoy it too.

Welcome and I hope you have a great week...hang in there...you're worth the effort!

Love,

This is a great place to get support.  I know how you feel.  My first week I lost 2.2 while hubby lost 9.5!  I haven't had a big weight loss in just one week, but after 19 weeks I have lost over 20 lbs.  Baby stepping it is the way.  Some weeks I have only lost 0.2...but I'll take it.  And we will be here encouraging you!!!!
