i need help!

some how i have gotten off track with this task at hand and am having a hard time getting back. even when i go to the meetings and weigh in and find that i have lost a pound or two the next week i am right back where i started. i keep losing and gaining the same five pounds and still i have 25 more to go before i reach my goal weight. i guess i am asking for some new ideas or help for my mind set.

Are you on Points or Core?  My leader says that sometimes when you get stuck, you can switch to jump start a loss and then go back to the other if you are more comfortable with it in a couple of weeks.  She says she even knows of people that go back and forth between the 2 plans....Core one week, points the next.

Just a thought.

Another, which is the one I am trying, is some form of exercise.

Of course, coming here and getting support is great, too!

I am starting a walking program with my daughter this week.  she has a break between college classes and wants to start working out.  I hate exercising, being sweaty and smelly, so this is going to be a real  challenge for me.

I too am getting stuck right now.  I wanted to lose 50 lbs in 16 weeks, now that I have it's like a little worm in my brain telling me I'm done, go out for pizza.  Unfortunately I still have another 150 lbs to go.  It is real struggle right now.

Keep trying no matter what, I think of it as a kind of war and I am determined to win this time.

Good Luck

Kim

Violet, first of all....I'm so glad that you're here! None of us can do this alone...that's why Weight Watchers exists. I have the same problem, I even have the temptation to eat everything I want (translated...everything not nailed down! ) on weigh in day...the reasoning is that I have all week to be good and get away with it...but you know what? It doesn't work.

I've been at a standstill for 2 weeks and I'm determined to have a loss this week, but eventhough I'm being good..the scale isn't moving. We can't give up! The only ones who can do this thing is ourselves, with a littel help from our friends!

I think the others gave you some great advice! Exercise, switch plans...those are the things that my leader suggests too. I'd also ask, are you drinking your water?

When our bodies burn fat it leaves behind a sooty residue in our cells. If this residue isn't flushed out, it can bond with the remaining fat cells and make it harder to lose. So, drink all of your 6 glasses of water, and then drink some more!

Don't drink diet soda or use aspartame products. I found out tonight on one of the forums at WW.com, that aspartame actually keeps you from losing weight! Who knew? Use Splenda...it's ok.

Are you writting everything down? DO! I'm on core and don't have to...but I bought one of those little spiral diarys that they have at meetings, and I'm even writting down my mistakes. Then, I can go back and see what I did right on weeks that I lost well...and what I did wrong on the not so good weeks. Keep the journals and be honest. The only ones we're trying to fool, is ourselves.

Write down when you eat and why? Figure out what your triggers are...are you tired, bored, upset, pms-ing, anxious or really hungry? Writting down what you eat and your feelings when you ate it, help you figure this out.

Get trigger food out of the house! Give it to the neighbors or take those extra holiday treats to work...your co-workers will love it and so will your scale on weigh in day! Out of sight, out of mouth!

Talk to the people in your WW class...we get some of the best ideas from the others who are with us in the trenches!

Keep your fridge and pantry loaded with things you CAN eat and enjoy! Try some of the recipes in the dessert section. I bake 2 crustless pumpkin pies each week, and when I'm hungry (or for breakfast) I eat some. It's 1 pt per serving for Flex and Core also. I add fat free Cool Whip (0 pts) and it's fantastic!

Re-read your Week 1 program booklet! If you're on Core, are you forgetting not to eat pasta and potatoes or bread on the same day, unless you count the extra points? Everytime that I look in the booklet, I learn something I thought I knew (but had wrong) or I remember something I forgot!

Go over your program again with your leader. Stay after class and just get a refresher. Go over what you've been eating with her and see if she can spot the problems. They've been through all of this before us...they understand.

If you're staying on program and still having no loss...try cutting back on your WPA. Even using 1 less WPA a day can add up.`
Eat a good breakfast...and my leader says eat at least 15 grams of lean protein at every meal, if possible. That can be an egg beater omlet, plain yogurt in a smoothie, lean chicken or fish.

Don't skip your milk and yogurt. Calcium actually burns belly fat. Women who eat or drink calcium lose 6 times more fat than those who don't.

If you're like me and hate exercise...try these tricks that I was told to use. Park your car at the end of the parking lot. Climb stairs instead of using the elevator. Put on great music and dance while cleaning your house (I prefer Benny Goodman...but anything fast and cheerful works...and you'll be suprised how quickly your house gets cleaned...BONUS!)

Treat yourself to something other than food. If your happy and your first idea is to celebrate with cookeis...take a relaxing bath instead, or a walk, or read a book.

If the vending machine gets you, clean out the change in your purse and leave it at home. Tear the bills in your wallet a little so they won't go into the change machine. I came up with this one, because the vending machine was grabbing me every time I went on break!

Last of all, try reading some of the articles under our new Get Off Track? section. I put it up here for just this kind of situation (which we ALL have now and then).

Don't give up...you are worth the struggle! You're almost there and we're here to help laugh, cry and pray eachother through our struggles.

If you need anything please just private message me by clicking on my name. I check the site several times a day to pick up my messages. We're in this together, and Kim is right, this is a war. And we're going to win it!

Blessings for a great week! Colette

Ok Coe...you taught me again!  I didn't realize some of that.

I will mention this about water, I have to be careful just how much water I drink.  Some times I'll drink extra and lose while other weeks, I just barely lose.  I also hate the taste of water.  My leader told me that if it doesn't have caffine in it or sugar, you can use it for water sometimes.  So I will use decaf tea or the Lean Sobe drinks at work...but watch your sodium on things like that.  But water is normally the best way...my system is just messed up!!!  Getting me on just 1 or 2 servings a day of caffine was a HUGE accomplishment!

Now after reading this....gotta get busy on my calcium!  I used to LOVE milk!  when I got married my mom went from buying 2-3 gallons a week to 1 and sometimes it went bad!  When I was pregnant with our first, I couldn't get enough....after I had her though that changed.  I have to admit, too, that I am selfish with my points!  I don't want to use 4 pts a day for my milk.  Of course they told us that if you drink 2 cups of skim milk at the same time it is only 3 pts, but if you drink it at different time it is 2 pts each time.  Hmmmmm?

I made the wonderful pumpkin spice cupcakes  last night and they are over 1/2 gone already!!!  I also found out from a friend you can experiment with that recipe too with different cake mixes.  I have tried butter pecan, chocolate, and german chocolate.  The butter pecan is wonderful (if you like butter pecan...dh isn't crazy about it)!  The chocolate is soooooo good!  Moist and you don't taste the pumpkin.  But we always migrate back to the pumpkin spice ones!!!!    Sweets are definitely my downfall.

I also like the WW candies.  You can get them at WalMart and many are just a pt.  Check out some of the other posts in the different sections.  Coe has done a great job keeping us up on the things out there for us!!!!

Chelle...aren't those pumpkin spice cupcakes insanely delicious? I made a WW Crustless Pumpkin Pie last night but now I think I'll make the cupcakes too! I don't have many points left this week (only 2...kinda ate my way through Sunday...lol) but they freeze well and I can start in on them again on Wednesday after weigh in. They are also great to pop into a ziplock bag and take as a quick breakfast during meeting...because NO ONE eats BEFORE weigh in...lol! If you all are like me...I trim my nails, cut my hair, and make sure I wear the lightest clothes I have to weigh in!

I am getting ready to post an article (and recipe) on the fat burning power of chai tea. I love the stuff...and I have been reading about how it can curb your appetite. Maybe that's why I was having such great losses before Christmas...and stayed the same after Christmas because I have been drinking coffee from the Senseo coffemaker DH got for me...instead of my morning Chai. HUMMMM????? ...guess what I had for breakfast this morning! Check it out under What's New...What's Hot?

I hope everyone is finding some encouragment here and also great recipes to keep us on track, I know I am. You all are a blessing to me as I struggle toward goal.

Together, we can do this thing!. Have a wonderful week...
