Greetings from the Great White MidWest! (WARNING...RANT!!!)

Wow...what a snow storm! Now, I love snow but this is just plain ridiculous! We have about 8 inches of snow and it came down in about 6 hours time last night!

I got off of work at 2 am and suprisingly the road crews had the main roads pretty well plowed and salted...but then I got to my street! Usually when they plow Blue Ridge Blvd they pile the snow up across my little side street. They didn't do that last night, I was so excited! I actually got onto my street with no problem (once I discerned where the street actually was...by guessing that it was the slightly lower expanse of snow between the street signs. I actually made it all the way to my driveway...but since no one bothered to actually shovel the driveway last night.......I missed the drive and went into the ditch!

So...there I am...2:30am...dark...15 *F....and not a happy camper, with the snow shovel, trying to dig my poor car out while DH is upstairs sleeping under a cozy electric blanket! Finally I realized, this is stupid! I can't drive and push the car at the same time...so I called him on my cell and asked him to please come downstairs and help me out of the ditch!

Well...with digging, pushing and not a few naughty words......we got it out! I was pretty darned well frozen stiff by the time we got to bed at 3 am!

Then, this morning DH calls and asks me to send a tow truck to his work...his defroster fan went out and he couldn't get it defrosted enough to drive. So...I did that, called the car place and had it towed. But, I told him to check the fuse...the blower motor might just have blown a fuse. He didn't.

The car place just called and it's ready. The fuse blew! Men...why don't they listen to us?

Anyway...we cancelled the trip to the family dinner tomorrow. There is a rumor going around work that we won't get a day off for 2 weeks and that I may have to work Sat (my only day off). Guess I can take Sam to play practice at church after all. What a day...I'm going back to bed.

Thanks for letting me rant! I feel much better now! Love ya'll....Coe

PS: The snow is absolutely beautiful!

Sorry for the rant...but it did help! LoL...

I ended up not working today... Sam was getting so stressed out about being in the Christmas pagent at church that I told him he didn't have to participate. Poor guy gets so stressed out that I didn't want it to ruin his holiday.

We are going bowling later..then I'm going Christmas shopping and to the grocery store. The roads were so bad that I didn't have a chance to do my regular grocery shopping, so I will pick up just what I need for the weekend then do a big shopping trip on Monday at WalMart in Lee's Summit.

The roads are better here...and the snow is so beautiful! I did the dishes this morning, and a load of rugs...and we're going to decorate the Christmas tree and living room tonight. Not exactly a relaxing day off...but a fun one. Can't wait for church tomorrow. Sam is still coughing, so he may stay home with his Dad. (Give mamma a little peace and quiet at church anyway before starting another stressful work week).

Have a great day and thanks for letting me vent.

Love ya, Colette

Sounds like your weekend ended up being better than you thought!  What a nice litle present not having to work!

I got up Sat morning and went to be tortured!!!  Went to Wil's (our "adopted son") gym with a couple of other ladies from church (he is doing it every other week) and took my girls (to help with their dance).  We were there 2hours!!!!!!!!!    But I did it and was not too sore yesterday.  The backs of my legs are a little tender, but I'm proud of myself.

Sunday was my daddy's bd and I got to see him!  My youngest was getting baptised so my parent's and my youngest nephew came up for that.  It went very well.  She was so excited that her daddy got to do it.    My camera did something weird though and I didn't get the picture I wanted, but my mom got some.

Then my poor hubby....he has lost so much weight (71 lbs and down 14 sizes!!!    Plus he can wear straight leg jeans now...for the first time) that his wedding ring is loose.  He lost it yesterday....but I am still praying we find it.

So that was our too short weekend!
