Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving?

We sure did...it was great. I ate too much...going to be on the Core wagon all week! But, it was worth it to get together with family and relax a bit!

I have to work tonight, but only for 8 hours, then I'm off on Sat. Dh and I are going out on a date on Sat, so I'm pretty excited about it!

Have a great day! Love ya'll...Colette

PS: Were you all suprised when you came up here this morning and found a winter wonderland?

I LOVE it!!!!  It sooo puts me in the Christmas mood!!!!

My brother came up Thanksgiving Day and left that night.  He couldn't get anyone to run his paper route so he had to go back.  He was in a good mood though, so we had a nice visit.  He ended up sleeping a lot of the time he was here 'cause he had been up since 2am because of his route.  He needed some sleep before driving the 2 hrs back home and doing his route again.

Yes we ate too much, but a lot less than we would have 2 yrs ago.  Plus, I did the cooking so I had control.  The dishes were pretty low pts, I used whole wheat stuffing and rolls, etc.  I was pleasantly surprised dinner turned out so well.  I think this is the first one I have done by myself.  We had turkey (in the crockpot...yum...so moist) and ham both.

Yesterday we got our exercise...we got up at 4:15am and went shopping!!!!     Hubby was in a shopping mood, so I took him up on it.  We got a lot of our shopping for Christmas done, got most of the stuff needed to finish up the living room, and we took the girls with us in the late afternoon (we let them sleep in the morning).  We let them do something they had been wanting to do...ok we had to talk to the little one...but we let her get her ears pierced (she had been wanting to but was scared) and we let the older one get hers done a second hole.  It is part of their Christmas.

Today we are getting some stuff done around here and then have to go to the church to let the girls practice their dance for tomorrow with the pastor's daughter and David and the pastor are meeting.

Have a wonderful time on your date Coe!!!!

I am thinking about getting Jamie's ear's pierrced for her birthday next week. Then she can be almost ready for real earrings for Christmas and that will make her christmas shopping way easy. A locking jewerly box and jewlery. I have ordered a Special ring for her too. It's not in yet and it's supposed to be for her birthday. The ring is on religious themes. In our Church we have what is called Choose the Right. or CTR. IT's in a shield. Since we are supposed to take our shield of Faith from the scritures that we learn and this helps Choose the Right. I will see if I can find a picture of the ring online and post it here. It's pretty. also for her birthday I am letting her  stay home that day and we are having a mother/daughter day.

It sounds like you girls have been having fun! I'm glad that you all had a great Thanksgiving!

DH and I went out today...we were naughty, went to the casino. We had lunch at the buffet and it's soooo gooood! I was good at the buffet anyway, I ate a huge salad with shrimp and tons of veggies. I did use ranch dressing (probably too much but it was low fat) and I had a small piece of sugar free banana cream pie for dessert. It wasn't so good, so I should'nt have eaten it, but I did anyway.

They also had alot of fresh seafood. I had small rolls of smoked salmon, oysters on the halfshell (only 1) and crab claws. It was yummy and a nice change from turkey.

It was nice for Larry and I to get away for a while, just the two of us. Of course, I came home to find that Sam was running a slight fever (100.1) and that's not good because his Aunt Truleen babysat and brought her two kids over to play. I sure hope they don't get sick too.

Sam will be staying home from church tomorrow, and Dad will stay with him. I have to go...can't miss. My little special needs girl, Jordan, will have a melt down without me there. I was 10 minutes later than usual getting there last week and she was very upset. I love my kids!

Well, gotta go. Glad ya'll like the site. I sure had fun decorating it. when I found the snowman cartoon I HAD to put it on the front page!

Love ya'll. Have a blessed weekiend. Colette

Sounds like we have all been busy...as usual!!!

Annalee...that ring sounds really neat.  Probably next year we will be getting our oldest one her purity ring.  She'll be 13 next Dec.  What day is your Jamie's bd?  We have 4 in Dec!!!!

Our little one was kinda funny.  She was crying a little bit while we were talking about it and I was fixing to say forget it.  Then she decided she was going to do it and the tears stopped.  She didn't cry again!!!!    She was such a big girl!!!!  We were soooo proud.    Then the other one gets up there.  I was behind her holding her hair...and David said she went white as a ghost!    But she couldn't let little sis show her up!!!

Your girls are brave! I was 16 when I got mine done and I was nervous! My aunt had a lady come in and do it, in her beauty shop (Aunt Viv was a hairdresser and owned her own shop). Mom and Grandma were against me doing it..."If God had meant for you to have holes in your ears, you would have been born with them!" LOL...

Well...not a year later, both Mom and Grandma had pierced ears!

Chelle...remember when the now MrsBatman gave her purity ring back to her father at her wedding, after he walked her down the aisle? I cried when she told about that...that was just the best thing! Good for you all for raising your daughters up to be chaste! Wish they had a purity ring kinda thing for boys!

Well..have to go. Have a great day everyone! Colette

LOL!!  My parents said the same thing!!!!

Do some checking on the rings 'cause I am pretty sure that my sister's friend and her husband both had them and took them off at their wedding ceremony.
