Whaz Up?

Well...just thought I'd pop in and see what everyone is up to. I was very pleasantly suprised to find out this morning that I have the day off! Yeah! Last night we were all sure that we'd work tonight...it's pretty scarey looking and there's alot of work. But, the big boss took pity on us and gave us a 2 day weekend! This is the easiest busy season I've had in 13 years with the company...so I'm grateful.

I sent Sam to school thinking I was going to have to work...he was pretty bummed because we enjoy our Friday nights together. So, he's going to be one happy little boy when he sees me in the truck tonight when we pick him up! I love that!

Then, we'll go out to dinner and home to relax. Yeah! I need it. Got up this morning with tummy trouble and frequent bathroom visits (not to get graphic...) I don't feel bad...just kinda yucky. It's a blustery, chilly fall day and I have the electric blanket cranked up. Time for me to go back to bed!

Have a good day everyone. Please be praying for me this weekend. We have a pot luck dinner at church and I'm making my nuclear green beans (the good version with real bacon and olive oil) and my favorite chocolate cake. I may have to be a little naughty and just taste them.

Love ya, Colette

Yea Coe!!!!  Glad you are getting these days, too!!!!

If I can throw away over 1/2 piece of a chocolate chip cheesecake with just a few bites....you can take a taste.  Just get a bite on your plate.

One of the best pieces of advice that my leader gave us about stuff like this is she walks down looks all over the table and sees what she wants and then goes back and gets in the line and gets a plate.  That way she already knows what she will be getting.

YUMMMMM....cheeeeeessseeeecaaaaake!

You know, I sit at work at night and look at wedding dinners, buffets and cakes for hours on end...I really love it when they have cheesecakes for wedding cakes! Why don't I ever get invited to weddings like that? Probably a good thing that I dont...

Our substitute leader last week said the same thing (great minds think alike) about surveying the buffet. She also said that if you're at a pot luck (which I will be on Sunday) that you should be the last one in line. That way, when everyone else is going back for seconds you'll still be eating. She also said that we should never, ever, ever, ever get seconds...we don't need them!

Another tip she said was to take a heaping tablespoon of something that you don't know the points value for and cound it as 1 point. She said you'll be suprised how accurate that works out to be! She's been a WW leader for 35 years and she knows her stuff.

I'll be ok. I came home last night and ate about 17 points of stuff that I hadn't planned on So, I was a goood girl and wrote it down..used my wpa. I'm being good today...and I still have WPA left for the rest of the week. I have to get Larry to put the food away at night and not leave it on the stove. If the leftover mac and cheese would have been put away in the fridge, I wouldn't have seen it and I wouldn't have gotten into it. Not blaming him (too much ) but I will ask him again to secure the leftovers so I'm not tempted.

I'll make a crustless pumpkin pie today so I'll have a good, healthy, low point go to food for weekend temptations. Love ya, have a good weekend.

Coe

I have two potlucks to go to this weekend. Both Church related.  Tonight the kids are making gingerbread houses for the Annual Gringerbread display that my church does every year and we were asked to bring soup. So I made a triple batch of the  Garden Vegetable soup instead of what I had planned for dinner. Other people are bringing more soup and others are bringing sandwiches so I can have my soup and be ok.  Sunday we have a meet and Greet and I am taking my cheesecake. I will just have a smigen of what is offered and plan on doing more talking that eating,

Having a day off is great!.

I did great at the potluck. There were alot of veggies and salads...all so delicious. I had one slice of turkey breast and some sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes...about two tablespoons each, and a deviled egg.

Then I tried a very, very small square of my chocolate cake...and ate two more pieces when I came hom. Oh well... It's trigger food...obviously. Good thing is, most of the cake got eaten while I was at work last night, by my boys. Maybe they'll finish it off tonight. There wasn't too much left...so I guess it was a hit.

Have a great day everyone. I have to go get ready for an appointment...hopefully I can post some more thanksgiving recipes later.

Luv ya, Coe
