Hello

Hello everyone!  Thank you for this wonderful site.  My name is Crissy.  I am a mother of 4 children.  I have three step daughters (ages 14,12 &11) and a 2 year old.  My husband Robert and I live in Springfield Missouri with our family.  I am 36 and he is 41.  The 2 of us have both recently joined weight watcher and after two weeks, I have lost 8.4 pounds and he has lost 9.2.  I have to give kudos to my step daughters.  We have custody of them and they have decided to count points as well.  In the two weeks we have all been on it.  Our oldest, Andrea, has lost 11 pounds, our 12 year old Samantha has lost 3 and our youngest daughter Jaclyn (age 11) has lost 5!

We have a long way to go and I know this web site will be a great help.  I have already printed off several recipes and will be submitting some as well.  Our short term goal for my hubby and I  is to lose 30 lbs by thanksgiving to suprise my inlaws when they come to visit. My long term is to reach lifetime but that will take a total of 89 pounds for me and 149 pounds for Rob.  I know we can do this and thanks in advance for your support in helping us to reach these goals.

Hi Crissy,

Welcome to our little part of the web. Good Job on the weight loss.  I have a 10 year old daughter too. I won't let her  count points. She is heavily into gymnastics and she works harder than I do in the gym.

Hope you see on the boards.

Thanks for the welcome!  I am glad to hear your daughter is so active.  I wasn't going to let the kids do the points, but they really wanted to so I decided to let them do it with supervision.  It has definately taught them portion control.

to our little group!  We are happy to have you!!!

My David has been doing this with me as well!  He has lost 67 lbs and I had lost 26, but have had some problems and gained a couple back.

Our youngest is 6 and wanted to count points at first, too.  I wouldn't let her though because not only is she very active (she was 4 weeks early and yet was still walking at 9 months!!!), but she only weighs 40 lbs now!  Of course she is shorter than most kids her age, too.  Her and my oldest, who is 11, are both very involved in ballet and dance.  My oldest may be on pointe next year and is very excited.

Hope you have a wonderful time here!

You've picked a great place to be!  Coe is awesome!!!!

Be sure and check out the recipe reviews, too.  That will let you know what others have thought of certain recipes!

Welcome to the boards. There are lots of great recipes here.  Your weight will really start to come off and you should easily reach your 30 lb goal by Thanksgiving.

I've been on ww since April and have lost 37 lbs.  I'm hoping to be close to my goal by my 35th birthday which is on New Years Day!

Welcome Crissy! We're so happy to have you here! This website exists to support and inspire Weight Watchers, to be a community that shares recipes, laughter and sometimes tears (sometimes on weigh in day...) and I'm so happy that it's becoming that kind of place. I hope to see you up here often and know that we're here to give encouragement and support. There is never any finger wagging or guilt...just unconditional love, which is what Weight Watchers is all about!

I think it's great that your kids are learning about proper nutrition and eating habits. It's so important to get an early start. If I had started being more concious about what I ate, I would never have gotten to 306 lbs (I'm only 5'1").

I live in Raytown, MO (Outside of Kansas City...we're practically neighbors ) and I have a 9 year old son, Samuel, who has autism, which makes him a very picky eater. He usually sneaks alot of snacks. Sam has put on 6 lbs in the past year so now we have him eating healthy, lower fat snacks and I use all fat free or low fat products. Hopefully he'll learn healthier eating habits than I did.

I hope that you enjoy your time on the Skinny cook. If you need anything, have any questions or ideas on how we can make this website better, please let us know. You can always post requests, comments or questions in the chat forum, or feel free to private message me (or anyone else) by clicking on the highlighted name next to our posts or on the front page.

Good luck on your weight loss, and your husbands! Blessings...Colette (aka...Coe)
