I am following the Flex points so I do not worry about calories due to just staying within my points.  I still measure stuff if just to make sure I don't go over what is allowed with points.  I may not do it everytime, but I do it every so often to make sure the portions sizes don't grow.  Don't know if that helps any.

I don't count caleries, Just points.

a one cup serving is about the size of a tennis ball,

1/2 cup is about the size of  computer mouse

3 oz of meat is the size of a deck of cards

Hope that helps.

The WW Flex Point program doesn't really use calories, just points. If you can get your hands on a WW Week One booklet and paper points calculator it would be the best thing. You might see if WW is running a free membership offer in your area...then, you can join for free and get the information just for the price of one week's membership ($11.00) If you decide to stay with the program it is $11.00 per week but if you don't continue, you will have the plan materials and can use them at home. They really are invaluable.

If you just want to count the calories and fats, then you will find alot of our recipes have the nutrtional data posted with them. Try to use recipes with the lowest points values.

I started out weighing 306 lbs and I got 30 points per day, plus 35 extra weekly points. I am down to 252 lbs...and in another 3 lbs I will lose points and go down to (I think....) 27 points. The more weight you lose on WW, the lower your daily points target, but you get to keep your extra points to use for special occasions or treats.

If you want to private message me I can get out my week one booklet and we can go over some plan information.

Good luck and know that we're cheering you on! Colette

No...it really doesn't.  I have tried the "starvation" diets and didn't lose...sometimes gained!  When you don't eat enough your body thinks it is starving and holds on to the fat.  Kinda crazy huh?  Just the way God created us...to survive the hard times.

If it encourages your hubby any....mine has lost 64 lbs on WW...and is doing great on it.  Click here to see some pictures of him....and he has lost since the last were taken.

Well...not to down WW or anything....I need the accountability myself....but DH doesn't go to meetings.  He just follows the program with me.  He watches our money, too, which balances out 'cause I don't as much.  LOL  So the way he sees it, we are getting 2 for the price of one!    And he has lost more than anyone else in our group!  I think it depends on the person.  I help hold him accoutable (and his will power is better than mine) and that is enough for him.

Shaw...my husband has been following along with me and he's lost 27 lbs! You can do it without the meetings, but honestly...I coldn't I need my meetings every week. It's where you go to get unconditional love and support. My leader says: "If you've had a bad week you need the meeting. If you've had a good week the meeting needs you!"

You can't imagine how much encouragement and I get at meeting, and how much it feeds me spiritually. You are 3 times more likely to reach your goal if you attend meetings rather that trying it yourself at home...and more likely to keep it off.

I talked to the receptionist at WW and she said that they usually have a free membership off in the fall...so it shouldn't be long coming. I buy the season passes...you buy a block of meetings at once and get them a couple of dollars cheaper. Plus, they are coming out with an online pass, where you sign up and your credit card is charged every month automatically for meetings. I think I'll just keep buying the blocks if they have them, because I don't like to charge things.

You do save eventually though, because you don't buy junk food...and you eat less and healthier, less processed foods.

If I find a coupon for free membership I'll send it to you. Hang in there...blessings, Colette

Shaw....I believe you can call the 1-800 number for your state and ask about scholarships, too.  I don't know a lot about them, but a couple of ladies in our group have had them.  It's worth checking into.

I...like Coe....need the meetings for my accountability!  What is it about men?

Shawnna honey, I'm sorry. I know how stressful things like that can be...but don't let it get to you. Do something nice for yourself, a bubble bath, soft music, a few minutes with a good book...you deserve it!

I sent you a private message....WW is having free membership starting this month...and some new cheaper ways to pay!

Have a better week...you and your family are in my prayers. Colette

I lived with my parents for 18 months after I had been gone for almost 12 years.  It wasn't nice.

Prayers and peace from here.

except i may not get to go into the prison next week cause we  have decieded our daughter dont need to be around my mom and that is a tough decsion and you all are probally thinking the same thing its just a vechile well to us its not its much more then that and so we are facing tough descions and its just been God that we havent tossed her out on her ear for not helping at all with the bills or food and not even trying to help herself or trying to find a job etc Its harder on me because its my mom and i am stuck between a rock and hard place but i cant force her to helpself

I am sorry if this doesnt make sense i am tired and we have been arguing with my mom tonite Its hard being 30 and having fights with my 57 yr old mother i am basically an only child i have a sister she dont care about my mom and i have basically always helped my mom out in whatever way i can and this is the last straw I am just glad it wasnt my idea to move with her lol it was my husbands idea for all of us to live together big mistake !!!!
