What are your favorite breakfast foods?

I've been thinking that I may be getting in a rut. Does anyone have any ideas on something new for breakfast that's fast, tasty and low in points...or better yet...Core?

I usually have oatmeal, a bananna and I put cinnamon, splenda and sf hazelnut coffee syrup into it...it makes it taste nutty without using points on nuts, like cinnamon banana bread. Then, I usually make chai tea or my jazzed up coffee.

I don't usually take the time to eat eggs, but if someone had a recipe for something quick, I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks, Colette

I have a hard time with breakfast, too.  Here lately I have been eating Kashi's Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Oat Cereal.  I eat about 1 1/8 cup (1 1/2 servings) with 1/2 cup of milk....but that is using up 4 of my points.  I am enjoying eating cereal again, but I think I will try and find out that is lower in pts.

On the weekends, is when I am more likely to eat eggs and stuff.  Also, the precooked bacon is only 1 pt a piece.  I do that when I splurge sometimes.

Also your muffins, Coe!  I have eaten a couple of those with your Chai tea or the 0 pt hot chocolate.

Sorry I can't be much more help with Core!

Not sure how much help I can be for Core, but here are some of my b'fast choices:

Cereal: Total Honey Clusters or Fiber One (just bought this one)

Oatmeal: Weight Control or regular, maple or banana bread flavored

Grits: plain or butter, most packs are only 2 pts. I have even taken a tbsp of shreaded cheese and melted in into my grits. Good!

1 rice cake with a tbsp of peanut butter spread on top. Sometimes I even put a tbsp of grape jelly on top, too. This would be good on a slice of whole wheat bread, too.

I have WW muffins, too.

I also have a serving of fruit with breakfast everyday. An orange, banana, apple, grapes, etc.

Hope this gives you something different to try!

Thanks Ladies! I have switched to Flex this week and I'm thinking that I'll try some of the things you suggested.

Kassidy...do you use reduced fat peanut butter? I have to get some, because I adore peanut butter! We buy Peter Pan in the giant cannister from the wholesale club (our son lives on it!) but it's very high in fat. Sam (my 9 year old son) is tall and thin and can eat anything! He obviously dodged the genetic bullet from his Mom!

I think I'll get some new cereal this week when I do my shopping. Getting in a rut can be dangerous to your program.

Actually I just use the Peter Pan. Dd loves it, too! I wasn't even sure if the reduced would be lower in points. I have been meaning to check that out.

Peter Pan has 5 points for 2 tbsp, so when I use one tbsp. I mark it as 2.5 points. Do you know if reduced fat is lower in points?

I'm confused.

On the points calculator at WW.com, they sy peanut butter (don't specify a brand) is 2 pts per TBSP....but so is reduced fat PB. Why even mess with the reduced fat then? I'm eating the good stuff.

I stand corrected...2 tbsp of "peanut butter" comes out as 4.5 on the calculator. Whatever it is...I'm eating it! Peanut butter is one of the few pleasures I have left...lol!

Thanks for this. Colette
