Colette's Hot Dish and Cool Picks!!!

These are things that I've found are very helpful in keeping me on my diet. Hope they help you too!

Pickled Peppers There are different brands but I buy these a couple of bottles at a time. They really satisfy my salty cravings, they are 0 points! and delicious! These are those little round green and red peppers that you find at salad bars and at pizza restaurants. The longer, yellow/green ones are good too, but I love the way the round ones pop in my mouth. They are not hot..the bottle may say "Sweet Peppers" but that just means they are not hot...the ones I get have no sugar in them but check the label. These are also good for you...and count as a veggie! BONUS!!!

Tango Low Fat Devil's Food Cookie Cakes Not only are these good and chocolately, but they are CHEAP! I get these at Dollar General. If you have one in your area, look in the cookie aisle and find the green box with the cookies on the front. These are really good, with the consistancy of marshmallow cookies..but only 1 pt each These really get me over the craving for something sweet with my coffee at night.

Wild Garden Hummus Dip I found this at my local Hy-Vee grocery store, in the health food section. It's really good (I got the spicy version). I love it on a piece of Pepperidge Farm thin sliced whole wheat bread (toasted). The hummus is only 2 pts per 2 tsp Yummy!

Pepperidge Farm thin sliced whole grain breads This is a life saver. The bread is thinly sliced and is only 1 pt per slice...so you can actually enjoy a sandwich without blowing your points too badly. This makes a good grilled cheese sandwich when sprayed with Parkay Spray Margerine and paired with fat free cheese.

Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges These can be a bit pricey but at only 1 pt. per wedge they are well worth it. The cheese comes in different flavors and is very good. This also makes a great grilled cheese sandwich when paired with the Pepperidge Farm thin sliced bread and spray margerine. They also make a wonderful, satisfying snack when paired with apple slices. They are creamy and satisfying.

WW Smart Ones Frozen DinnersThis is pretty obvious, but there are so many varieties and they are soooo gooood! I take these to work at night, if I'm too tired to cook something, eventhough I'm on Core (and these are NOT CORE) they are a great use of my WPA! I'm fond of the salisbury steak and mashed potatoes and the chicken parmigana with spaghetti. The pizza's are good...but I have to really want one to blow 8 points on one meal. if you hav'nt tried these, DO!

Wonder Peanut ButterNow good luck in finding this! My WW leader says its wonderful (if you get the salted variety) and we can have it! I can't quite remember how may points she said it was...but it's better than no peanut butter. I havn't been able to find it yet in the KC area, but there is one more Price Chopper grocery store to try. I'll let ya know if I find it. Maybe you'll have better luck than me...because giving up peanut butter is one the challenges I'm facing..I love the stuff!!!

Boca Burgers Vegetarian PattiesNow, I love my hamburger, but at only 1 pt each I decided to try these. Be sure to check the points because the different varities might have different points values...I used the low fat version. They are suprisingly good. With tomato and onion and a wedge of laughing cow light cheese on two slices of thin bread...I was a happy girl. Couldn't tell it had never mooed....lol!

What are some things that are helping you succeed? Dish the goodies...share the love! LOL

Oh honey....Laughing Cow is the best!!!!  I LOVE it!!!!  I am a cheese person and this helps me sooooo much.  I'll put mine on my Subway sandwiches, too sometimes.  Unfortunately I can only find the regular, but would LOVE to try the flavored ones.

As far as price goes, here they are like $2.89 at WalMart....but I can get them at Sam's...3 of them for $6 something (can't remember the exact price).  That's where we get ours.  Saves a little that way.

The WW Smart Ones are a stable for us!  With hardly getting time to cook some days...we eat these A LOT.  I don't know if you guys have it, but on our Quick Track the last page has a coupon for $1 off of 5...we use those often as well!

You know, I completely forgot about the coupon in the Quick Track..and I just got a new one this morning! I went to the store after class and got the salisbury steak with the roasted asparagus for my dinner at work tonight...it's soooo gooood!

Since I'm on Core, I have to count the WW dinners as my WPA...but they are so worth it! I love those things, the chicken enchilada suissa is insanely delicous!

Laughing Cow is awesome! I read on the WW website that the French company that makes it has a plant in the US now (Kentucky I think) but that they have had to start shipping extra cheese from France because Americans have gone nuts over it...because of low carb and WW diets. It's soooo goood!

Have a great week...love ya. Coe

Check your experation date on those coupons....I just noticed yesterday that ours had expired.  It took the one from the day before when I used it.  They may be updated now, but I didn't get a new quick track....'cause I still had two from the last two weeks!    Gotta get back to keeping better track on those points!!!!!!

As far as the dinners, we should have bought stock in them!!!  Dh loves those chicken enchilada ones too!  They are a bit spicy for me.  My favorite (I think...there are so many that are good) are the Peppercorn Filet with mashed potatoes.  After I cook them, I turn the dish sideways a little and scoop some of the gravy from the meat into the potatoes!  Word of warning, don't use pepper on that one until you taste it first because it does have quite a bit already on it....sooooo good!

I am out of Laughing Cow right now!  Have been craving it for 2 days!!!!!  Time for a trip to Sam's!!!!

Love the Laughing Cow! When my sister and I go to Paris (her gift to me for losing 174 lbs...talk about incentive) I should go and personally hug and kiss each person at their factory, for getting me through the program! HUMMM??? Kissing frenchmen......oops...anyway......

My leader suggested that we get one of those spiral diaries they sell at the meetings. She said that she keeps all of hers and writes everything down religiously. She said she highlights the things she did different on weeks when she lost alot of weight, and that way she can go back and see what she did that made the difference.

I'm on Core, so technically I don't have to write things down, but I'm doing it anyway. I got my little diary at the meeting on Wed (only $3.95) so I'll give this a try.

Have a great week...love ya, Colette
