How do you make the right choice?

I know this diet has nothing to do with depriving yourself in the slightest (If you bite it write it) but lately I have done nothing but want to eat and eat and eat!  I am not sure why it seems to happen every once in a while!

The days I do well I do really well and can save some points to have ice cream at the end of the day but the days I do really bad I do REALLY bad!

I know the correct choice to make but find it difficult to make it!

How do you do it? confused

THANKS -
Meredith

Ummm .... why do you think I've been away sooo long?!
I started doing REALLY bad and it's been harder than heck to get back on track!

I'll be interested in everyone's answers too!

I was doing great at first....I lost a total of 26 lbs....but as you can see by my tracker....I have gained 1/2 of it back.  The munchies are really hard for me too....esp around AF's visit.

It just comes to doing it.  I'm lousy at it.  But I have got to get back to that point where I am doing this for me.  It is really hard on me working where I do...esp the hours we do.  It is right in front of David and I all day long.

I'm trying to get back serious.  I'm going to try and keep myself occupied.  One of the things I have heard is wait for 15 minutes to see if you are really hungry.  If so, eat something with zero pts or with high fiber.  I have also found if in your regular points eating the higher fiber helps.

I am going to try little things....like not eating while on the 'puter.  I am online at lunch while at the store, but I'm talking about other times...when I'm not really hungry, but my body thinks it needs food while I'm on the computer.

Maybe some of the others who have reached goal will have some ideas.  I may even do some lurking around online and get some ideas....I'll come back and share if I find something.

The other thing I know I need to do is actually go to the meetings rather then running in a weighing and then leaving - that motivation does something for me!

Hey Ladies...I understand completely! I've been struggling. I know that I need to get back into the meetings...but I am finally back on track.

I've always found that when I get into a craving phase...that is when I need to switch to Core. On the Core plan, I can eat if I feel the need to (*not WANT to, but need to). The choices are the important thing...good choices make good outcomes!

Meridith...you might try eating more protein at meals, more fiber and fewer carbs. That's one reason why Core works so well...carbs actually trigger the production of insulin (called the "hunger hormone" for a reason evileye.gif). If we can cut our carb intake for about a week, we can break the craving cycle. It works, but the first week can be a challenge.

You might try reading some of the articles in the Expert Advice section, on getting back on track. They offer tips and suggestions.

I hope this helps! Keep at it...no one can do this but YOU...but we're here with you and believe me...we all understand and are supporting you all the way to goal!

Blessings....
